You set up Single Touch Payroll generally once when you onboard. However, there will be times that require and update or change to your STP Set up:
- A change in your ATO contact for STP
- A change in ABN structure of your organisation
You will have one intermediary ABN regardless of whether you are reporting against multiple ABNs.
This is your leading ABN/ABN you will use to identify your business to the ATO. Please note that this does not mean that all your employees will be reported under this ABN, each employee is reported within your STP file/s with the ABN they are employed under/appears in Flare on their employee record.
NOTE: If you do have more than one ABN/Legal entity in your Flare Pay set up - they will need to be authorised to lodge from your intermediary ABN - more details from the ATO at bottom of this article.
Company STP Contact Name, Company STP Contact Email, Company STO Contact Phone Number:
This will be the contact we will tag the STP file with - if the ATO has any questions on the content on the file they will contact this person. There can only be one contact per company,
If you business reports to the ATO under a branch number, you will enter it here. If you are unsure, please contact your finance team.
When you have more than one legal entity
If these are not linked, you will need to create authority through your ATO Access Manager or complete a Cross Entity Authorisation Form
