Leave can be managed either in Flare or a third party however in some instances leave is managed across both (not ideal, but possible).
Leave in Flare:
Leave Requests: employees can apply for leave via the Flare Leave calendar
Leave Accruals: leave can be accrued on standard hours per period (i.e salaried, work patterned) or on hours worked per period (i.e timesheet, variable).
Salaried employees will have their leave entitlements set as 'Fixed Amount each Period' and will have their leave balances incrementally increase daily.
Timesheet employees will have their leave entitlements set as 'Based on Timesheet Hours' and will have their leave balances updated at the end of each pay period once the pay run has been finalised.
Leave Balances: leave balances will be held in Flare and reported in the Leave Balance & Accrual Report
Wage Types: if there are timesheet employees who accrue leave based on hours worked, the wage types which are eligible to accrue leave on, must have the Accrued Per Hours Worked option selected. Salaried employees will accrue based on their work pattern only.
Leave in Third Party T&A:
Leave Requests: employees can apply for leave via the T&A system and these requests are included as part of the timesheet import each pay period.
Leave Accruals: leave is accrued and added to Flare at the end of each pay period, via the standard Leave Balance import with the effective date set to the period end date. The leave being imported via the Leave Balance import needs to be the entire leave balance and not only the accrual for the latest pay period
Leave Balances: leave balances will be updated at the end of each pay period, once the leave import has been completed
Wage Types: wage types do not need to have the 'Accrued Per Hours Worked' option selected as all leave is accrued outside of Flare.
