Your Flare implementation team will have helped you configure all the Leave types you need during setup.
However, you may want to create a new Leave type sometime thereafter. This is usually an Unpaid Leave type, for something like Jury Duty. It’s easy to set up a new Unpaid Leave type in Flare, and optionally: specify an entitlement for the number of hours/days that can be taken; and map the type to your payroll system
1. Head over to Settings --> Payroll Setup --> Payroll Item Definition → Leave
2. Click on the “New Leave” button at bottom right.
3. Fill in the details. Use a descriptive name.
If you want to set an entitlement, add the maximum number of hours which can be taken in the field “Normal Entitlement”.
If you are using FlarePay, map it to the FlarePay Leave Type “Unpaid Leave”. If you are using another payroll integration, enter an External Code which that system will recognise. Uncheck “Paid Leave”.
You usually would NOT want to show the balance of such a Leave type on payslips. So uncheck “Show Balance on Payslip”.
4. Click Save
